Apparently I missed the memo and Emo is trying desperately to make a comeback. SDRE, who some would consider pioneering forefathers of the genre, have recently been featured on Jimmy Fallon, in the new Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and popping up in several music venues across the globe on a reunion tour. Their guitar screaming sound still resonates as well now as it did in the early nineties. Hell, if Emo stayed like this I’d still be religiously listening to it.

Well if it isn’t one of the hardest working males in R&B already back again after penning that fantastic new Rhianna joint. This ones for all the lovers in the house.

Dammit somebody beat me to it. LOL!!! Much thanx to the Hathbanger for this gem.

One of my favorite songs of the 80’s covered by one of my favorite new artists. Breathtakingly nostalgic!

Sometimes you hear a voice in the back of your head that sings along with your favorite records and makes everything sound better. Most of the time it’s your neurotic psychosis (get checked), but last spring it was her. Wynter Gordon. And now she’s back again as a solo entity. Hope you have insurance :)
And just in case you managed to actually get cured.

It doesn’t take much to get me excited about a new band. In truth I’m downright similar to a teen guy at spring break always out looking for the next hot set.But there’s something quite a bit different about this Montreal indie rock trio. More appealing than alot of the other freshman in the class.
They hang just a bit lower,
sound more than a tad juicier,
and yet still 100% silicone free.
But as all great bands during this era only time will tell how long they hold their shape. And with a sound that borrows influences from both Dinosaur Jr and Sonic Youth they might just be here for a while.

As much as I wish I could say I wasn’t a fan of 90210….I can’t. The Spelling helmed train wreck of a spectacle into West Beverly Hills teens “lifestyles of the rich and infamous” captivated me long after their (and my own) graduation. The new incarnation doesn’t seem to have as much luster as the old reels. Perhaps because CW’s other “rich kid” drama has already retread those waters from an east coast perspective. But as far as sonically speaking, those Cali kids definately have the edge in freshness this season.
