i heard there was a secret chord
that david played and it pleased the lord
but you don’t really care for music, do you
well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth
the minor fall and the major lift
    the baffled king composing hallelujah

    hallelujah…

well your faith was strong but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair
she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah

    hallelujah…

    baby i’ve been here before
i’ve seen this room and i’ve walked this floor
i used to live alone before i knew you
i’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
    it’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

    hallelujah…

well there was a time when you let me know
    what’s really going on below
but now you never show that to me do you
but remember when i moved in you
and the holy dove was moving too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah

well, maybe there’s a god above
but all i’ve ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
it’s not a cry that you hear at night
it’s not somebody who’s seen the light
    it’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

    hallelujah…

One of fav songs of all time..

    I Love Music… Any Kinda Music…

    orangefret:

I love music. I love all genres. I love a good bass line. And a wicked guitar rift. Don’t get me started on a rhythmically intriguing drum beat. Music is a passionate kiss. You will always be affected by it long after it is nothing but a memory. You know when you haven’t heard a song in years and it plays on the radio or at a party, you can’t help but get excited by it all over again.

I love interesting lyrics. I also love silly lyrics (I’m very good at writing parody songs… just ask my friends. lol.) I don’t play any instrument particularly well, but I would love to learn. I write songs, but I can’t play them. I wish I could because then I could play them for you so you can hear what I hear. When I write, I write with a particular artist in mind. I wish I knew someone who knew them so that people would know my songs.

I love the way music is used in film. It just adds something to a scene. It’s like if that particular song wasn’t placed in that scene the whole movie wouldn’t be the same. Whether it’s a fight scene, a car chase, a romantic kiss, I just think the music makes the scene.

Music adds a little something to everything everyday of my life.

    Annie ~ I Don’t Like Your Band

Annie’s first album was unbelievably an electropop smash, yet slept on by most of North America. Let’s hope when her new album drops in the U.S. next month that DJ’s and listeners aren’t quoting her song in their reviews. I personally love it!

Diddy (feat. Dirty Money) ~ Love Come Down

I’ve been kinda waiting on this one ever since I started first watching Diddy’s Making His Band on MTV in reruns. The sound is definitely classic post-Biggie Diddy (kettle drums and everything), but the repetitive Jay-Z loop (“show em how to move in a room full of vultures”) may kill me after a few spins.

Taio Cruz ~ Break Your Heart

Already a U.K. chart topper I can’t wait till this song gets radioplay over here! If this were Akon they’d be already spinning it.

Sunny Day Real Estate ~ Seven

Apparently I missed the memo and Emo is trying desperately to make a comeback. SDRE, who some would consider pioneering forefathers of the genre, have recently been featured on Jimmy Fallon, in the new Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and popping up in several music venues across the globe on a reunion tour. Their guitar screaming sound still resonates as well now as it did in the early nineties. Hell, if Emo stayed like this I’d still be religiously listening to it.

It’s unbelievably difficult to compose a manifesto detailing your latest brainchild effort to carve out your own niche in the blogosphere when you’re running on less than a half an hour of sleep and five cups of extra caffeinated tea…….but here goes. For the past 11 years I’ve fancied myself as kind of a nouveau music savant. My eyes always focused ever forward like astigmatic high beams on the sonic highways of the future. Monthly I compile a playlist of all the scattered, odd and beautiful sounds I’ve passed on my journey down those roads. And as of today I’ve decided to share my travelogues with all of you.
